This program will certify you as a Child Passenger Safety Technician with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada. It is suitable for emergency services personnel, nurses, midwives and doulas, family support workers, baby and child product retailers, child care providers, community volunteers, and parents.
The course spans over 2.5 days and attendance is mandatory for the entire duration of the course. It will provide you with the knowledge and hands on skills to educate parents and caregivers, and to assist and teach how to properly install child restraint systems. It will provide an understanding of regulations and safety standards, vehicle restraint laws in Canada, and the importance of properly restraining occupants in a vehicle. Your registration fee of $200 includes all course materials, clinic supplies, and ongoing support and updates as technology and standards change.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be certified for three (3) years, which also includes liability insurance when you offer your services as a volunteer.
Registration closes Monday July 29, 2019. Spaces are limited to 10 participants. Full payment when registering is required.
Please note: an Instructor-Candidate (Anna Blundell) will be co-teaching this course alongside an Instructor-Trainer (Erin Harder). Registration fees are non-refundable unless the course is cancelled by the Instructor.
